~Irish Blessings to You~

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

(Traditional Irish Blessing)

My Mom had this blessing hanging in our home when I was growing up. And being a "wee bit" Irish, (well...a few generations back, both of my parent's grandfathers came over to America ....or so the story goes), we usually make a boiled dinner of corn beef, cabbage and potatoes to celebrate the day. Do you have any Irish celebrations/traditions?

We're not Irish, but my youngest son started a tradition in preschool and continues it today... He creates a leprechaun trap each year that has gotten progressively more complex (like the Mousetrap game). He has never caught a leprechaun yet, but usually finds some gold chocolate coins left behind :-) Patti

How sweet - I think Corned beef and cabbage is about my only tradition left. When the weather is nice and I have the free time, I love catching the HUGE parade that KC has every year on Snake Saturday and St. Paddy's day :)
