So this past week, I went to the drugstore and looked over the selection of bifocal reading glasses. (I wanted to be able to look up and glare at anyone who would dare to make a comment!) And I found these:
I decided to splurge a little and get the $14 pair rather than the $5 pair, since this is my first. I may regret that decision when I start losing them, as I've been told can happen.

And to be honest, I can read, paint and see the computer screen a little clearer.....even though they are the lowest strength!

I am the very same way...I need a spot light lately when I sew..and threading my needle is torture! I did try and find a pair of reading glasses at the drug store..but I could not find a pair that made things clear for me for some strange reason. I just said to Mark last night that sewing in the evening is becoming increasingly difficult.

OK sweetie it's time to visit the optometrist, that way you can have your eyes checked properly and fitted for glasses made for your vision.
I know you're thinking that is a sign of aging, but one does not want to be caught off guard in case it is the beginning of something else.
Taking care of your eyes is a sign of wisdom!

Oh what a cute post. I can so relate, Suzanne. I started out with one pair and now have about twenty! I buy the $5.00 ones. I've asked my optometrist and he said it's fine to wear the drug store kind, they don't hurt your eyes a bit.

Our neighbor is a retired teacher. She was forever losing her reading glasses. Once when we were in their home, she showed us a lamp on the bedside table. There were reading glasses stuck all around the shade. Her students gave her many pairs of reading glasses, because they knew how she always lost them. I thought it was so sweet she had all those glasses on the lampshade. A reminder for her glasses, but best of all, a reminder of her students.
I bought a pair last summer when I started having trouble threading the needle.... I used them once but now they are just sitting on my desk... I just can't work up the courage to put them back on...
Confessions of a mother-in-law: I buy them by the handful at the Dollar Store, or in a three pack at Costco. But the 'real' ones that come from the eye clinic truly are more comfortable.

Well I have prescription reading glasses! They do make it easier to do things like threading a needle and other little things!
